VIDEO CONFERENCE

Robert Kurson, Richie Kohler and John Chatterton will be the featured speakers in a live videoconference for readers in schools, libraries and book groups. This will be an opportunity to hear the author to discuss Shadow Divers, with a Q&A session..
NOTE: THE PUBLIC IS INVITED to attend the session at Barrington High Auditorium from 9:30am - 10:30am; the video conference will also be available for viewing at East Providence High School and at East Greenwich Public Library. Also, the divers will make an appearance later that afternoon at East Providence High School School Library from 1:30 to 2:30 for an informal talk and book signing.

Celebrate Reading Across Rhode Island 2006 at the Weaver Library!

Join us for a unique musical program at the Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave., East Providence, RI on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 7PM and explore the themes in the book Shadow Divers. Mr. Craig Edwards, Mystic Seaport's Coordinator of Historic Music Programs, will perform traditional songs about shipwrecks, piracy, and naval battles. He will play a variety of instruments to accompany songs that have been sung for hundreds of years. The audience is welcome to stay after the concert for a short discussion of Robert Kurson’s exciting, bestselling book.

Join the statewide conversation on The Shadow Divers: The True Adventure of Two Americans Who Risked Everything to Solve One of the Last Mysteries of World War II. Robert Curson’s book tells the story of two weekend scuba divers whose underwater discovery leads to the solution of a great historical mystery. You don’t even have to finish the book first- anyone interested in the topic is welcome.
This program is free and open to the public.
Three Stores + Three Days!
Barnes & Noble Stores across Rhode Island held a statewide Book Fair to benefit Reading Across Rhode Island on March 30, 31 and April 1, 2006. Our Appreciation is extended to all three stores for their participation in hosting several special events on those dates.
